Grand Theft Auto 2 is a top-down open-world action game developed by DMA Design (later known as Rockstar North) and published by Rockstar Games, released in October 1999. Set in a futuristic city called Anywhere City, players could work for three rival gangs simultaneously. It was the first Take-Two game to sell more than 1 million copies, and the first GTA game to carry the Rockstar Games publishing label.
